Chapter Four: Show My Love

                                *3.5 weeks Later

“Hey Justin I heard Veronica’s still giving you an extra hard time.” Adriana said walking into the cafeteria with her current boyfriend Christian. Justin gave her an edgy look. Over the past few weeks he’d cut his hair to a clean shave, and started wearing hip hop clothing. It was sexy on him, more girls were flirting with him, and he started doing his own work.

“She’s really made him do a 180.” JC said, kissing Amanda’s cheek. “Just so he could feel a love like this.”

                “Awww, well Justin…she’s coming.”

“Coming on what?” Johnny asked looking up from Jasemine’s lunch plate.

“Oh my God!!!!” Jasemine yelled, slapping him lightly. “You are so nasty-“

                “Yet so sexy.” He grinned.

“I can’t really argue with that.”

“Oh my God, SHUT UP!!” Amanda laughed.

“Awww baby relax, yelling at them isn’t worth it.” JC smiled.

“Yeah but you are.” She kissed him.

“Hmmm….” Adriana sighed, as Christian leaned in to kiss her. “Wow…” She almost fell into the table.

“Is this a kissing fest, cause I’d love to join.” Johnny grinned.

“I’d like to know that as well.” Veronica said coming over. CB was beside her, grinning at a girl sitting next to Lance.

“Oh buddy don’t get the wrong idea.” He warned Lance when he noticed he was eyeing him.

                “Oh I won’t. I can look can’t I?” Lance asked.

                “No.” CB said flat out.

“Justin can I talk to you?” I asked. He nodded getting up.

                “Where?” He asked gently.

“Outside…” I took his hand and we went to the outside cafeteria in the back. They had two areas for when the weather was nice.

“What did you want to talk about?”

“I have no idea.” I answered honestly and he frowned, cocking his head to the left. “I really…just wanted to be alone with you. It’s funny that no one ever comes out here I just think the sky is beautiful. Maybe one day I’ll fly away and you can come with me because-“

He put a finger over my lips, and kissed my forehead. “Now you’re the nervous one. I like the switching of roles Veronica, but really…I don’t like the running around.”

                “I’m sorry.”

“Have you ever been in love?”

                “Where did that come from?”

“Why does it matter?” He smiled. “Answer the question.”

                “Yes…once.”

“May I ask who he was?”

“…You.” I looked down, stepping back. After a moment of silence, I decided going back inside was best, so I did.

Justin stood where I left him, thinking to himself. The answer he received was the one he least expected. Steven came out, interrupting his moment.

“Aye um…6th period is about to start. Figured I’d let you know.” He said.

                “Thanks man.”

“No prob.” He jogged back into the school, as Adriana jogged out.

                “Uh…what the hell?”

“What?” He frowned looking at her.

“I saw Veronica come back in, and she looked nervous. She never ever looks nervous. What did you do to her?” Adriana asked. He just smiled.

                “What does it matter?”

“It matters because apparently you mean something to her. I’ve known her since 3rd grade, and watched her, scared she’d kill someone. Now you got her all blushing and hot.”

“You have no idea how much I’ll cherish the last thing you said.”

“….You are nasty!!!!!!!!! YOU AND JOHNNY ARE RIDICULSOUS.” She shook her head, unable to help her laughter. “But seriously.” She continued once she calmed down. “What’s going on?”

“Love…love is what’s going on.” He said walking away, inside the building.

Adriana frowned and headed back inside to her 6th period class, running into Christian, who happily welcomed her into his arms.

“So what’s up with that Veronica girl?” He asked.

“I think she’s falling in love.” She had a puzzled look on her face.

                “That’s possible?” He scoffed.

“Seems so.” She nodded. “Well let’s get this crap over with.”
